Glenhazel’s Galliot Park is back, better, and brighter from neglect into a thriving community gem

In a bold and inspiring turnaround, JCPZ, in partnership with the Glenhazel residents association and CAP Security’s (Green Team), has officially reopened Galliot Park, transforming it from a once-neglected space into a shiny, vibrant, safe, and modern community destination.

Launched on Tuesday, 21 April 2026, under a picture-perfect autumn sky, the reopening drew families, community leaders, and residents eager to witness and celebrate the park’s remarkable rebirth.

Once marked by deterioration and safety concerns, Galliot Park had long lost its appeal. Today, it tells a completely different story. Backed by an investment of approximately R3 million, the park has undergone a striking upgrade that includes improved walkways, stylish seating, upgraded children’s play areas, and enhanced safety features such as controlled access points, strengthened perimeter fencing, and solar-powered lighting.

Now boasting a clean, contemporary design with a near international standard, Galliot Park offers more than just aesthetics; it delivers a safe, welcoming environment where families can relax, children can play freely, and communities can reconnect. Every pathway, play structure, and seating area has been thoughtfully designed to encourage comfort, safety, and shared experiences.

Today, Galliot Park stands as a shining symbol of what is possible through partnership and shared vision. Its transformation is not just physical; it is a renewed promise to the community, a place reclaimed, protected, and filled with life once again.
